Beginner Tapestry Weaving Workshop with Ibu Textiles - hosted by Mercantile On The Square: $45

Ever been curious about the woven wall décor that’s been popular lately? Catch weaver fever and learn the basics of Tapestry Weaving in this beginner friendly workshop! Over the course of 2 fun and relaxing hours, you’ll be taught all the skills needed to create and design your very own wall hanging.

In this workshop you will learn
• How to make a simple DIY loom from cardboard
• How to set up the warp thread on your loom
• How to do weaving stitches including plain weave, soumak, and rya knots
• How to add fringe and tassels
• How to incorporate a variety of fiber weights and textures
• How to plan and execute your own design

All materials included: yarn, needles, cardboard, rulers, pencils, scissors, dowels.

Looms will be available for purchase if you prefer to learn on one. Snacks and wine will also be provided.
