Watercolor, Graphite, Digital Design, Photography

Born in Westmoreland, Tennessee, Chuck Creasy graduated from Maplewood High School before attending Tennessee Tech for two years (where he studied architecture and fine art). He was drafted after his sophomore year and spent three years in the United States Army. After graduating from officer candidate school, he spent a tour in Vietnam in 1968, after which he went to art school at Harris School of Art in Nashville.

While in school, Creasy studied for two summers with watercolorist John Pike in Woodstock, NY. His second summer studying with Pike, he was introduced to Norman Rockwell and spent time studying with Rockwell in his studio in Stockbridge. It was because of Pike that he fell in love with watercolors and he has painted in that medium for the last 48 years.

Upon graduation from Harris, Creasy became an art director at Eric Ericson Advertising and has pursued the creative side of advertising and design, working for several agencies and eventually owning three. He also served as Creative Director of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp for ten years and retired four years ago to paint full time.

Currently, Creasy lives in Hendersonville, TN with my wife Marnie. They have three wonderful children (Chuck Jr., Chanda, and Gray), still travel extensively, and are students of Native American culture as well as volunteering for several non-profits.

Painting is Creasy's passion and, though his life has taken him in many different directions, he has never gotten over the thrill that comes from laying down that big wet wash of pigment on crisp white watercolor paper.
